I have enjoyed Dave Chappelle's recent Network specials including "The Closer". His recent specials are more aligned with societal story telling trying to make points rather than traditional comedy. He pushes some core points during his routines.
his last 3 or so specials have been observations of society moreso than comedy. He's funnier than many of his peers but a big comedic downgrade from his earlier specials. This one felt more like "let me explain myself" than anything really.
Chapelle is one of my favorite comedians. I dont have to agree with everything he says to like him or find him funny and disagreeing with him on something does not make me hate him. He does bits on white people and that is not offensive. His material on trans and such dont involve him hating on them, in fact he had a trans comedian open up for him for many shows and that comedian's family still supports him.
