Cancel culture has gone too far

From today’s USA Today...

AMAZON UPDATES ICON AFTER HITLER COMMENTS

Where does this it stop? Now cancel advocates magically see Nazi symbols in corporate symbols.
Wait, so if during the graphic design meeting someone said that the icon reminded them of Hitler's mustache and they tweaked it, it's fine, but if someone makes the same observation after it's out there, it's no longer fine?

There's a big difference between your examples. One is the company's own quality control and choice. The other is the company being pressured to respond because of some random person out there. With billions and billions of people out there, someone is always going to have a problem with something. We can't keep sterilizing the world to satisfy the hurt feelings of every member of the human race. Sometimes, the majority needs to rule.

Let’s look at reality - cancel mob howls for weeks that Amazon’s logo looks like Hitler’s mustache; Amazon changes the logo.

Amazon could have chosen not to change the logo. someone will complain about something all the time.

remember when cons were upset about the phrase “happy holidays”

The issue is that we fundamentally disagree on why the Seuss foundation cancelled these books. It was not because they proactively identified content which was “questionable”; it was because the cancel mob was howling for Dr. Seuss’ head. Sadly their move will backfire since cancelling these six books has merely emboldened the cancel mob to demand more.

It’s time for rational people to stand up and say this nonsense is bullshiat and clearly say “No”. The problem is that people who do this are the next target of the cancel mob.

Dude.... one of the books had a Chinaman with slanty eyes running around with chopsticks and rice......some things are outdated and should be taken away..... Maybe research what is being attacked instead of clutching your pearls over the attack.

Ok fine but Amazon was not cancelled or suffered any losses....their PR people decided to make an adjustment because of unintended consequences in an image.....

Or Amazon didn't want their logos associated with Hitler's mustache. One of those "once you see it" things

Except Suess is not cancelled..... typical hyperbole...

Cat in the Hat
Horton Hears a Hoo
Green Eggs and Ham
The Places You Will Go
Grinch

not cancelled... most of you don't even know the titles which are no longer going to be published. Typical Fox news type of shitty reporting...take a snippet and turn it into an entire Fucker Carlson rant.

cancel culture is their new muslim terrorists/rapist illegal scaravans/BLM thugs/red deep socialist commie SJW's.

This one sadly may gain traction as corporations may throw money at combating our right to boycott (see Texas vs Palestinian teacher) and have a corporatist SCOTUS w/a soft ear. We may get our citizens united 2.0 soon enough here.
