No, the article wasn't to show that Amazon succumbed to pressure, just that there was pressure and I made the assumption that amazon removed it accordingly, because that's just what they'd do.

I don't know much about optics, particularly the red dot's designed for CQB. At one point they were pretty pricey but I am seeing them now for <$50, with pretty good reviews from users. What's your take on the difference between a $50 red dot and something like a Trijicon or EOTech?
I do, indeed. In today's world, its more likely to be true, unfortunately.
I have an EOTech. Got it a long time ago. It is on my SCAR-H, in front of the 2x magnifier (that I can swap to the side to just use the dot). I think a dot is a dot, but the prices for EOTech have come down somewhat since. You're paying more for the warranty and service, though I suppose it does have a dimmer/brighter feature to change the circle's brightness.

I have never fired a weapon with modern optics and large magazine. I'm probably going to really suck at the range. Embarrassing but it is what it is.
I'm deadly with an M1A and iron sights but I'll try to join the modern era. The builder is going to help me regain my marksmanship and make some range trips with me.
