My guess is that he's just not very smart, and prone to believing he is. Low information voters believe what they want. People who are presented with new data, and then change their mind and admit error, are anomalies these days. My team knows that if I am wrong, all they need do is present solid, empirical data showing otherwise, and I will gladly retract and change direction - thanking them for the evidence.

But if all they make is emotional arguments, I've got no patience for it. And GWB is someone who is about the emotional. He's got family in medical, so he's likely oversensitive to COVID. He wasn't always a loon like he is now on this board.
