Canadian Economy outperforming US on almost every relative metric.

You mean like all those people who have never owned or shot a gun in America yet dare to chime in on a discussion to require stricter gun ownership and acquision laws? Sorry pal, being smart and studied on topics does not mean one has to have lived somewhere for a prolonged time in order to intelligently discuss a topic. We welcome you to participate by making valid points that pertain to the topic at hand. Otherwise adios, feel free to retreat back to your politics threads where you seem to feel extremely warm and cosy.

Sorry pal, your big mouth doesn't work on me. Bye bye

In 2007 the zombie banks (a financial institution which is insolvent but which continues to operate through government support.)"in the US were bailed out
Today the US is a zombie nation.

Canada is in relatively good shape, although Premier Trudeau is trying to turn Canada into another spendthrift US.

I don't grasp the constant bagging on Canada, no country is perfect. I've been going to Canada since I was a wee lad. My dad was an expert craftsman and made wooden canoes. Every year he and my uncle would take a couple weeks and go into the Canadian wilderness. I started going with them when I was 10. When I was 14 and my brother 12 we took 2 canoes as we were big enough to portage our own. I remember the signs at the post stating if your not back by X date we're not coming to look for you. Some trips we didn't see another person for 2 weeks, just wildlife.
They were magnificent experiences that tuned me to the natural world's rhythms versus the
incessant, debilitating clawing to imaginary, ephemeral dominance over our fellows that humans have exhibited over our time on the planet. We won't destroy the Earth but we will most assuredly destroy ourselves with all this moronic pettiness.
Comparing Canada to the U.S. by any metric is absurd. It's equivalent to comparing a classroom of 39 to one of 350. The myriad dynamics suffer exponentially greater potential of loss of control, lack of stability with the larger numbers.
Coffee wearing off, end of rant.lol
I have commercial and residential investments in Van, B.C. If I ever feel the need to extract myself from the U.S. I'll be a Canadian.

Anything of value to add? I thought you wanted to leave? You proclaimed so just a few posts above.

I also think that Canadian economy is back on the track. Its main issue is its sensitivity to oil prices. As for everything else they are performing quite good, at least what can be seen from official macro figures

Canada drastically increased immigration and economy is benefiting for now from this surge. 1% of population is coming every year. It might be enough to entirely avoid recession for decades. Although such a huge population growth will result in infrastructure strain. I remember staying on highway for 4 hours trying to leave Toronto on summer Friday evenings 10 years ago. I suspect situation is not getting better.

I believe Canada's recent employment numbers were juiced by the Trudeau bump, which is to say that he hired lots of federal workers to ensure re-election.
