Canada's Depression: Surging Crime, Soaring Suicides, Overwhelmed Food Banks

Nine_ender makes out Canada to be a healthcare paradise. Here is yet another example of heartless failure in the Canadian healthcare system.

Photo of elderly couple's heartbreaking goodbye is as sad as the story behind it

This is Wolf and Anita Gottschalk of Surrey, British Columbia. They have been married for 62 years, and they have been inseparable for almost all of that time. But for the last eight months, Wolf and Anita have been forced to live apart. Their granddaughter, Ashley Bartyik, regularly drives her grandmother to visit her grandfather, but the the reunion — and the goodbyes — are always heartbreaking. Bartyik recently shared a photo of her grandparents saying their goodbyes, along with an explanation for why the pair have been separated, and it is moving the internet to tears.

Wolf, 83, was placed in a nursing home in January of this year after suffering from congestive heart failure. His wife, Anita, 81, currently lives in a different nursing home 30 minutes away. According to Bartyik, the family has been pleading with health care officials to get the couple reunited so that they can live together in the same nursing home, but to no avail. Bartyik blames the issue on "backlogs and delays by our health care system."

Bartyik drives her grandmother to visit her grandfather every other day. She snapped the photo that she shared on Facebook so that the rest of the world could see what it looks like every single time her grandparents have to say goodbye to one another.

I actually think this story helps illustrate the positive aspect of our system, that these people get care at their advanced age at no cost to themselves or their family. If anyone, including yourself, wants to send them money for extra services, feel free to do so. Perhaps it is you that is "heartless" because you are not funding these people. Or do these people simply represent an opportunity for you to spew more mindless propaganda on a trading site ?

Vancouver housing prices are down 30% since march

Bubble is popping in many of the oil patch markets.

Lots of Forged doc liar loans For mortgages being made

I know for a fact employment and tax returns are being forged and used as proof of income for verification and mortgage approval.

Canada is 2008 America all over again.

In reality ( something that constantly puzzles you it seems ), the BC housing market was subject to a new 15% tax designed to cool off their housing market. Yes, it was a planned move. I don't know anyone who forges loan documents, but it does seem that you hang around with a degenerate crowd in some rural Ontario town. So yes, possible in specific towns, but that has been the case in Canada for 50 years, it's just new to you apparently.

The 2008 US crisis began with banks that had bad assets. Canadian banks don't have bad assets at all, they are posting record profits that are still trending up, and use fairly conservative accounting of said profits. They have in fact been steadily buying distressed US banks for the last 6 years where they see value moving forward.

Yet you sit on this site talking negatively in Canada and demanding that the US deports all sorts of people on various grounds, some of which are blatantly racist in nature. Which brings up an obvious question. Why the fuck are you in Canada, a place you openly detest, and why aren't YOU deported by your logic ? Are you really such a mediocre person that somehow the only place you can survive is in Canada, a country you openly detest ?

Very telling. If your not a pure troll on here you really are a disturbed, sad individual.

save the armchair psychologist routine for the kids. Most of what you post is repetitive ad hominem garbage. You're a racist. You're dumb. You're parents are dumb. Come at me with something original for a change.

I know all kinds of people and mortgage fraud is very common amongst the indian community here in Toronto. You are delusional once again.

As far as 2008, yes the "bad assets" we're non performing mortgages. Plummeting home values and delinquencies go hand in hand. You're perma bullishness reminds me very much of the bulls in 2007. Is it really different this time rear ender???? Tell us another one.

Once bank of Canada raises rates it's all over. Those "super strong" Canadian banks will take a super shit

Yeah, it is different this time.

You might upset rear_ender. Rear_ender is very proud of the Canadian housing bubble.

More likely you'd be upset about the return on capital I get owning a place in Toronto. I have zero risk on my investment, the point is having a nice location and comfortable living space. Many people pay a fair bit to rent places like this. Any price appreciation is a bonus. This is what I've noticed about Elite Trader, it's often impatient people who don't research their ideas very well and are forever looking to call tops on nice assets. For example, in 2005, people on here declared a top on AAPL. It's gone up 3000% since. The top calls on the SPX from 2010-2017 are the most popular of anything here.

Basically ever since the liberals took control in Canada the country has been spiralling down the shitter, Canada was the first and only country in the G7 to actually balance their budget after the 2008 crisis, under conservative leadership, the conservatives handed that to the liberals and they promptly blew a gigantic hole in the deficit while the loonie has been going straight down the shitter.

Im not really complaining though, if liberals want to destroy the canadian dollar its fine by me, i make U.S. dollars. Most people are suffering badly under the inflation that the liberals have created though.
