Prime Minister Tinkerbell Trudeau still suffering from the lack of humility that got him in trouble earlier in the covid experience, and gave rise to this thread.
Now he is taking another beating for exactly the same reason, ie. getting too uppity about the covid situtation in Canada. As you will recall, in the first episode, he and his bootlickers boasted excessively about how well they were doing covid- especially in regard to the Americans- and then they got hammered- not only from covid but especially from the total lack of a vaccine procurement plan.
That went on for months as you know.
Finally, thanks to American and other vaccine, Canada got a vaccination program together and a high vaccine rate too because the Canadians are a complacent and compliant people. All for the good for a guy who had taken a well-deserved beating. But he dealt with it by getting uppity again. In fact, he thought that things were going so swimmingly well that it would be a good time to call a national election. His plan was that he was such a superstar know that a new election would get his party even more votes and help to consolidate his power rather than cobble together a coalition.
Problem is. It blew up on him and he is in the midst of another humbling experience. Canadians are pissed off at him for calling a national election during difficult times in the country and the world just so that he can boost his own political currency. They don't like it. Not just his opponents but lots of voters in his own party as well.
Election coming right up in ten days. He probably will hold on to power but not increase his support in Parliament any more than he has already. In other words, during difficult times he gamed Canada by putting them through an election for nothing.

I have not followed it that closely but some of the headlines look like he needs to watch his arse even though I said he will probably survive. He could get more of a humbling experience than he thinks if he doesn't stop being totally obnoxious.

The Canadian liberals bitch like hell about American interference but they put their begging bowls out there bigtime when their boy Tinkerbell gets in trouble- whether it is over vaccines or a tight election. And he is in trouble.
If he can not pull this off, it will be one of the great political blunders in Canadian history. He had another two years to go before he had to hold an election as required by law but he got uppity and thought that he had recovered so much from the vaccine fiasco that he called an earlier snap election to see if they loved him enough to increase his support in Parliament and give him a majority. Now he is gasping for air just trying to survive. Another "humbling experience" for Tinkerbell. What an arrogant idiot.
Most likely he will finish the election with a couple points lead. In a parliamentary system that is just the beginning of the food fight. He gets to try to form a government but the other dem party and conservative party are toying with the idea of collaborating which would give them the majority. The risk to reward ratio there sucked but he was feeling special so assumed everyone else would be happy about holding an election in the middle of pandemic just so that he could be more special. He had no need to call an election at all for another two years by law, but was feeling frisky after getting all the American and other vaccine and called a snap election to try to up his support in Parliament.
