Canada’s covid-19 second wave is a humbling moment after a summer of bragging

“[Canada is] perceived as having a good job market, caring about human rights, and is committed to social justice,” the report notes

Yeah, hardly biaised report, sure the kind of things holiday goers and retirees first look into.
Plus human rights have taken a nasty dive imo in Canada this year, wondering how the dudes from Ontario have judged their quality of life during that time. You must be licking the national Flag morning and evening to be remotely satisfied with the situation.
I´d never had a negative vision of Canada until this last year btw, but I´m sure more than happy to not having lived that time there.
As mentioned before my cousin and his friend did move to Quebec, which has always had a good rep among french, to work in a restaurant another friend set up, just before the covid crisis. After spending much of the first lockdown fishing in the Saint Laurent (I think) while seeing their project butchered by government intrusion, he called it quit and moved back to the Mediterranean when they announced the 2nd lockdown, spending much of his time in more pleasant Spain. Now in Switzerland working under much better conditions he had in Canada (or back home).
Not sure how Canadian democrats see the situation through whatever insane lenses they are using, but Canada to outsiders has looked like a nightmare lately.

Meanwhile, out in the real world, the United States of America remains the top destination for immigrants in the world BY FAR.

And Spain is second to France worldwide in the number of tourists it attracts, Canada not even in the top 10. Might have changed a bit during covid

More pleasant Spain...is that a typo ?

Please go re-read your post history the past year of you bitching about your Spain during the Pandemic. :D :banghead:
  • Hopefully, you were not implying the Canadian Democrats in Québec, Canada as the controlling political party ?
Is so...you misunderstand the ruling political party here especially the long political history of the Saint Laurent. The Coalition Avenir Québec unseated the long hated Québec liberals party (Parti libéral du Québec). :D

I'm with the Parti Québécois...we get along with the Liberals...much better than the CAQ gets along with the Liberals.

There are two Québec liberals in my neighborhood. If one is ever found dead...we joke that the RCMP should go investigate the Coalition Avenir Québec members that live in the neighborhood.

Very true.

Yet, you can spin this another way too considering the thread starter stated the negativity that Americans have towards Canada...

Here's the top vacation destinations for Americans.

A lot of American's spend their time in Canada...its the #2 destination. :D

You should be happy there 10 months out of the year. Februarys should make you ecstatic

Personally like sunshine and water. Ice is for tea.

Skiing, winter hiking, winter camping, snowmobiling and all the wonders that winter brings...

It's the most active time for me. I tend to leave Canada for travel early-summer and return back in the early fall (kids have school). Do not want to miss the first snow fall or first white out blizzard. :D
