I continue to be less and less surprised by the rantings I come across on the Internet. The web has become an eye opener on the people with whom we inhabit this planet. And not necessarily in a good way.

I've said many times last year...

2020 allowed us to see the true character of many people online hiding behind anonymous user names.

I have no doubt if there had been an internet in the 1918 Influenza Pandemic...the same crazies / trolls would have shown their true colors back then too.

We all knew via the historical info of the 1918 Influenza Pandemic that crime rate and mental illness would decline dramatically during the lockdown but they will explode above the norm when countries come out of the lockdown.

Behavior on social media is no different and it will get worst as I've been stating since the first mass shooting of 2021 or since states / countries begin to remove / lessen Covid restrictions.

Buckle your seat belt and pull down your visor...shit has yet to hit the fan.

Canada does not have the smallest fraction of the problems that real countries around the world have. Having polar ice caps on the north and the u.s. on the south is a highly enviable position.

I’m going to be honest with you, all of the accomplished white people I know aren’t racist. I know a lady who does nuclear cooling systems, not racist. I know a guy who runs one of the biggest insurance agencies in America, not racist. I know a neurosurgeon, not racist. All of them white. None of them would follow your trailer park vision of America. I won’t either.

In my opinion, your problem is you hate your problems instead of try to fix them. You try to squish them down and oppress them instead of finding some peace. And there in lies the conflict - the oppression.

Canada is fine. They have their own wackos but for the most part they are on the right track.

We are not and it is because of the right wing in America. We have real problems and no they are not our cities that make us rich or our diversity that makes us creative and innovative. False. Canada is one of the most diversified countries on the planet with equal if not higher immigration rates then the US in recent years. You just believe in a lot of racist shit you can't get past. Your whole "real" Canadian bs is a huge joke. The majority of Canadians are immigrants. Technically I'm an immigrant but I came here as a small child. I'm white, from the UK, as Canadian as anyone could be. Yet you claim I'm a "fake" Canadian.

His vision of what Canada is and what we really are is two totally different things. This whole "colonial" bs is shrouded racism. And you are correct it's people who are failing in their own lives that tend to gravitate to this kind of thinking. Might be their upbringing as well. I live in Toronto and we have a richly diversified city with numerous different streams of cultures coming in.

You can see it in his posts he talks about "fake" Canadians all the time. It seems the only Canadians he respects have "colonial" roots and are white. Sounds a little like Maine I guess. The only way he can process who I am is assume I rode camels in my childhood and immigrated to Canada in the last 10 years. In reality I immigrated from the UK in the 1960s, and have lived more then 90% of my life in Canada.

Canada is nice place by and large. Mostly good people up there. I understand they’re great neighbors to have. I know how to count assets.

As to Canada being white, colonial legacy and immigration issues that was never germane to the point. You brought it up as a counterpoint to their having better well being to America.

America is much more powerful than Canada. We are capable of so much. We are stronger than they are in every way accept our right wing is self destructive. They’ve made the smart moves that improve the well being of their citizens while we haven’t. There isn’t a country in this world as capable as we are. We can do anything imaginable yet we are mired and in decline because of republicans. It’s the saddest thing in the world.
