I forgot some statistical information with graphs about the average cost per Covid patient that's hospitalized in Canada and the United States:
For an insured person in United States...its about 45k and uninsured is about 71k.
In contrast, in Canada...its about 23k but the government pays the full bill. A good friend of mine that was hospitalized / ICU with Covid for 3 months here in Canada...it did not cost her a penny.
In fact, I know people that migrated to Canada solely because of financial health reason while others (those that live on the border) come to Canada for medical visits to get treatment. In addition, there's a not discussed reason why Canadian politicians that are married to U.S. citizens choose continue working in Canada...they also primarily live in Canada and not the United States.
- It's a growing crisis in the United States...the financial burden on top of having a health crisis has financially ruin many. Yet, such was occurring long before Covid.
Just as important, they mainly get their medical healthcare in Canada...not United States.
Many examples of these Canadian politicians but I'll just mention one considering her name has been mention many times in this thread by TreeFrog...
She's named the Conservative critic for health by Opposition leader Erin O'Toole. She sits on multiple Parliamentary Standing Committees including the Standing Committee on Health since October 2020.
- Honorable Michelle Rempel- Conservative Member of Parliament
The point will be further made if Michelle's husband Jeffrey ever gets severely ill in the United States...lets see if he stays in the United States for treatment or if Michelle brings her husband north of the border for treatment.

Seems to me rather then acknowledge their growing social issues many Americans just try to pretend it's somebody else's problem and whine about anything related that inconveniences them. Pretending that Canadian's have the exact same problems is all part of their process. If the facts are inconvenient, they come up with grandiose reasons why somehow it isn't as good in Canada as the facts suggest.
As related problems become too big to ignore ( e.g. the federal deficit and related taxation issues, mass shootings, the Covid outbreak, armed insurrection and riots, rapidly increasing insurance premiums, natural and man made disasters ), all sorts of pent up blame is being levelled at assorted boogey men on the planet ( eg the leftists ). It's a very unhealthy dynamic. We see it all play out on this forum and I used to wonder if this crowd here was at all representative of the American society. It turns out it was representative of a far bigger portion of American society then most would care to admit.
