I've accompanied the Canadian police, whether city or RCMP, a few times for parole violations and escapee apprehensions. If it looks like there's going to be resistance, most of the time they reach for their taser first. Of course, Canada has gun control.

Do all the RCMP really still ride horses, or is that mostly just a hold-over name for them?
They do! And their proud steeds are trained to gently knock on igloo doors.
I've only seen them on horses in parades, honoring a constable whom died in the line of duty, some carnivals an provincial detachments.

Maybe Canada is being proactive and doing it's best to make sure nothing terrible happens there.

So they can be arrested if committing a crine without being murdered and brutalized like American cops do.Someone should let American police know that.
