I am half Canadian and have family there so it is a bit sad that it has ended up like this....
Your family choosing to live in Canada instead of living somewhere else implies they disagree with you.
- Yet, you not disclosing what that other place is for proper/fair comparison is disingenuous wherever you're located now.
Canada still ranks far above most other countries and has similar political structures as other top countries. My primary category is not politics but "raising a family" as shown in the image/link below although there are other categories that Canada ranks high among other countries...
In fact, Canada has ranked in the top 10 of all countries for every year I've made it my permanent home.
Myself, although I make Canada my permanent home of residence...I
migrate between three countries as a person with multiple citizenships. The weather, education system, and my children (teenagers) dictate where I'm located at any given time of the year even though my political party has not been in power since I made Canada my permanent home...
I'm OK with the latter because politics
do not dictate where I choose to live.
Yet, I've also lived in several other countries where I am
not a citizen because I'm from a military family in which I had the opportunity of growing up in different countries as a
military brat.

Most people at this forum that rag on Canada do not disclose where they're located
or their primary reason for disliking Canada is because their political party is not in power in Canada while they're unable to admit that the politics in Canada still has little impact on that one fact...Canada still ranks as one of the top countries.
Its the reason why I use the word above...
disingenuous.
