Can you guys short GM on IB? I'm not getting filled on Webtrader. Not getting any can't short message either.

Does anyone know what changed in the last few days to make this stock suddenly shortable again? I'm familiar with all the news - looking more for something like "Kirkorian deposited a bunch of shares in a margin account, making them available to the street to short".

I may have guessed correctly. SEC filing says Tracinda/250 Rodeo/Kirk Kirkorian have pledged their GM holdings (now 56M shares) as collateral for a note at BofA. Effective date of the pledge was Oct 14, though the note was apparently dated Aug 31.

Can anyone confirm that BofA is where borrowers are going?
