Yeah but you can deduct the cost of the seat as a business expense.

I've done it and every CME seat holder has done it.

It may be easy to calculate breakeven commission volume, but purchase, lease or similar arrangement immediately incurs professional data costs/fees, and trading income for USA taxpayers, being subject to SE tax, currently at 15.3% on the first 137,700, reduced thereafter.

Of course. And there may be additional deductions available as well.

My "just saying" post was merely to bring to light that determining volume breakeven may be easy, but is NOT the only calculation or consideration one needs to take into account when purchasing/leasing an exchange seat.
