Can the US afford a war with Iran ?

Did you guys ever think that its inevitable that the US is going to collapse and we ARE defending ourselves by destablizing these middle east countries so that when we do collapse, they have no means to attack us?

Maybe USA can convince the Chinese to invade Iran in exchange for Americans continuing buying their products.

The thing is, whatever capacity Chinese have built so far to extract wealth from USA can be replicated by USA in no more than 5 years resulting in full employment, rising stock market and rising USD.

Them, China is left to try to police the world for making money.

What about that?

You mean can china afford a US war with Iran? US taxpayers haven't fully funded anything in this country since Gingrich was speaker.

Fixed it.

For sure the oil companies do not object....

The oil companies know one thing....the cheapest oil is in
Iraq and Iran....and could care less what it takes....

In other words ....look at the winners and losers of a prospective war....then you will have your answers for instigation....

What really needs to happen with respect to Israel is to examine US money spent on Israel versus Israeli money spent on the US....Does anyone have this number....?

As a child ....unless one of privilege....one knows that one has
to be independent, strong, and self sufficient....

Any country that positions itself whereby it is reliant on another country for its energy needs....its debt needs....manufactured products.....is basically no longer a sovereign country.....

End of story....

True but do you know why many American politicians and economists object to this line of thinking?

Quote from Vespasian:

Seems to me that the entire Iraq war was to stabilize the middle east and to promote commerce there.

That would have been a great waste of lives and money if Iran where to compromise that stability.

Ummm... yes if there was even a remote connection between the excuse for going to war and the end results...

Bombing Iran wouldn't be terribly costly, but energy prices would rocket and it would hit the US economy hard and slow down potential economic recovery. Ground troops, please forgeddaboudit... Obama wouldn't make that mistake either but if Palin was VP or Pres...

.................................................

Globalization theory....

................................................

In what way can one measure a country's value.....?

.............................................

One way to accomplish this measurement is to view
what its people would do....if there were neither exports or imports ....

Is globalization 100% bad....100% good...?

No....

Can its usage be optimized...absolutely....a continual process....

Has globalization made the US a better place ?

Is this some kind of a joke? 1.3 million Iraqis dead (1.3 consumers vapourised) since the war broke out, the commercial and industrial infrastructure ruined.

In what ways do you think Iran could destabilise what you perceive as ''stability'' there more than US?
