Can TA be applied to mutual funds?

Hi

Does anyone have opinions on trying to apply technical analysis to mutual funds? If you believe such an approach is viable, would you be able to recommend any methods/criteria, etc.?

Also, does anyone know of any financial sites which can produce technical charts for mutual funds?

Many thanks in anticipation of your assistance.

Long ago Fidelity had "Select" funds, they were like Index funds of all one sector and would have a closing price each hour, they had no rules on trading them. I use just Moving averages and do like swing trades, staying in 3-4 days. It was pretty cool back then. Now the rules have changed and I think not you locked in for a month?

You can use anything on Mutuals and trade like stocks.

no. you cannot trade intra-day. there are dividend and capital distributions whchi are taxable to you even if it held for a short period.
why bother when there are hundreds of etfs.

There were no EFTs back then that I knew, I think it was the 80s and was trading an IRA.

Gil Blake and Gary Smith come to mind.
Blake truly found some tendencies and exploited them in the early "trading" days of Fidelity
Sectors. Smith ( read his book) posts on ET. Ask him. He may respond.
