Can somebody shut up ALAN GREENSPAN?

Quote from nasdorq:

this thread should be titled "who had a bad day in the markets". What a bunch of freakin whiners. I'm sure if greenspan's remarks caused the markets to go up you'd be giggling. You people are the same as traders who blame "market maker games" for their losing trades. Face it, you suck, and so does your trading/investing strategy. Don't blame greenspan, blame yourself, and then fix it!

Regarding the tax raising talk, why are there socialists on a message board dedicated to capital markets?

Wow, how many brain cells did it take for you to come up with that. This thread is about people that sway the market when they speak needing to STFU, not about your ego. Get a life loser.

Someone should launch a Congressional investigation into Greenspan's loose monetary policy at the Fed.

He bears much responsibility for screwing up this country big time.

Lawrence Summers* compared the stages of crises to the stages of grief :
“First, there is the denial that a crisis could be taking place. Second, we see anger, with a rush to blame speculators, and other outside forces, and often, domestically, a change in government. Third, there is the bargaining: the desperate search for magic bullets… Fourth comes despair, leading eventually to the decision to call in the IMF. Finally, in the fifth stage, there is acceptance and the agreement of a credible plan.”

*Summers, Lawrence H. International Financial Crises: Causes, Preventions, and Cures. Richard T. Ely Lecture, AEA Papers and Proceedings. May 2000.

I think people are somewhere between the second and third stage...

Oh, yea,

And wouldn't you know it, the Fed is going to be "injecting" $40 billion this week too.

I forgot to add that card to the game.

these injections getting up to the half trillion mark are eye opening, my only question... what's the point of conducting trade? where's the free market

i guess there's nobody to sell to at these prices... central banks shouldn't stand in the way of a free market process

Ben didn't cause the housing bubble. He just inherited it.

Fed is an one-legged animal. Cutting rate is pretty much all it can do when faced with a crisis.
