Can I trade pit-traded commodities with Interactive Brokers?

That would be my opinion. Check the volume on things like corn, crude oil and gold on the NYMEX. You'll be surprised at the volume.

The thing is, there's large volume in enough electronic contracts that I can't think of many reasons to trade with the pit.

On a related topic..

Does anyone know if the CME has plans to offer the big contracts (SP, RUT, NDX) on Globex during RTH?

There was a discussion about this over a year ago, and it sounded like it was in the cards, but I haven't heard anything since.

It certainly seems long overdue..
