Can Anyone Please Help Me??

Quote from Treve1:

I have a huge problem with my stock options bought through interactive brokers. I invested a lot of money in several stock options and I made some profit. The expiration day was on Friday 16 and I didn't decide to exercise the options. I was told that if I don’t exercise them, the options will result in stocks. However, I checked my account today on Saturday and it shows all my options lost 100%. I am very much worried as I invested really big money, would someone tell me if I really lost all my money? Did I have to sell all the options on the expiration day? Any help on this will be much appreciated!!!
Thank you!!!

Since TWS doesn't run on Saturday - I'll assume that you checked your Friday account statement.

Check TWS on Sunday after noon (EDT). It should show the stock positions. Occasionally, option assign/exercises may be delayed, but you should see them by Monday before the open.

Now, since it is assumed that the auto-ex was processed because of investor oversight the assumption is also that the account holder is also unaware of new positions in the account and added risk. I have spent more than a few weekends attempting to contact the account holder to gather intent. If we were unable to contact the account holder regarding the auto-ex and their intent, we would close out the positions come Monday at the open.

Really? That's incredible. Is that policy in the contract?

IB assumes that the trader/investor knows what they are doing and lets them carry any position that they have the margin for. (With a few exceptions - such as short stock buy ins and deliverable futures after the close out deadline).

If they don't have the margin TWS will auto liquidate down to an acceptable margin level after giving the trader a short time to remedy the situation.

I checked my statement today (Sunday) and everything is ok, my options were excercised!!
Thanks for your answers as they were correct!!!
