Thanks Howard for your much appreciated input. This maybe the type of thing I may want to do. Thinking outside the box really open things up. It presents limitless possibilities, and the thought of being successful at something I never imagined doing sounds awesome. but let me ask you, what inspired you to pursue CCW permit? I'm not a firm believer in that things happen for a reason, but just curious how you would arrive at something like pistol instructor as a trader and a retired software engineer.
A great question.
I became committed to concealed carry as a result of the VPI tragedy. Many years before this tragedy I had walked that campus and been in that building while recruiting for my company. I also frequently visited the campus while my son and his fiancée pursued graduate degrees. What would I want to be able to do if I was in that place at that time? How would I feel if I was unable to protect those I love?
In relatively rapid succession I obtained my CCP, began to carry every day, became an NRA certified instructor, began classes to become a Certified First Medical Responder (what if one of my students suffered from a gun shot wound?) and began working on the three supplemental learning modules for the concealed carry curriculum I help teach.
For most of my friends and family, who are anti-gun, I refer them to this video. I met Susan Gratia Hupp and she is as impressive in person as she is on the video.
