Can amazon be worth 40% of our national GDP??

Redid the Amazon math scale...ready

Amazon is up a gigantic $390 in the last week or about 18%

Doing quick math that if Amazon continues on this trajectory that by December 31st 2020 Amazon will have a screaming value of $8,100,000,000,000

498,000,000 (outstanding shares) x 390 = $194,000,000,000

$194,000 000,000 x approximately 36 weeks left in the year gets you approximately $6.9 trillion in added market cap on top of the $1.2 trillion it already carries, so a combined value of a $8.1 trillion dollar company. The numbers are absolutely mind-boggling. What I'm saying is that these gains are literally impossible to continue on the upward trajectory that Amazon has been climbing. There is no way a single company can be worth 38% of our national GDP!!!!!!!!!!

Amazon trading at approximately $2400 a share today!

Have you seen what the quarantine has done for Amazon’s business? The trucks quite literally are at my house just about every day.

the thing is the shift to online is not temporary. post-virus there will be a permanent shift. people will work/shop/entertain a lot more online, accelerating the technology take over of the economy, which was already going on.

think amzn, nflx, msft, and all the networking/computing infrastructure needed for this shift.

load up now!

If you claim this as a permanent shift in the way people entertain, work, shop, etc then you are saying that more than half of the 22 million jobs lost are never ever coming back.
That means economic growth isn't going anywhere for a long long long time

Incredible i just looked. Amzn, apple and msft each have $1.25 tril or more market cap. its as if the selloff never happened . Crazy

That stock being $2400 is extremely too weighed for a dow component.
Well maybe AMZN would consider a split (10 or more to 1) to gain Dow status.

Of course they don't need to but it might help them keep Chumpie off their back - a little.
