Can a retail trader make money in options on futures?

so how could anyone effectively trade floor options through IB if they can't get the bid/ask?

Yes, I've noticed that. Sometimes it makes for fun reading, but most of the time it's completely annoying. I'm still pretty new to posting on Elite, and I'm trying to stick with substantive/useful content.

On the platform, No. They will see the last traded price, but obviously that's not really enough info to trade options effectively.

What they can do is phone our order desk and we'll obtain the bid/ask from the floor. Most of our option traders phone in their orders for that reason.
