can a Fedcoin compete with private cryptocurrencies?

That's a pretty eye opening article (advertisement for a book I guess).
Is that guy really all the anchor portrays him to be?
I mean after reading that I'm like looking at how much calls are on GLD.
The reason I voted no is because the people that are currently Bitcoin and others are the very people that would run screaming from a so-called Fedcoin.
