California Stealin'

I don't live in Cali, but I claim more exemptions as a matter of course to offset schedule F losses. Otherwise I end up with 7k+ refunds.

Quote from Scataphagos:

That was mentioned in the news story.. with the comment, "we hope most people don't do this".

But as anyone due a refund is likely to get a non-neogtioable IOU from the state, the wise would "overwithhold" a bit and pay a small sum with the filing of their state return.

Or if due a refund, allow it to be applied to next year's return and plan accordingly.

why dont we just sell California to Guatemala and get it over with??

I dont not live there but this is not American. If they want 3rd world status why not make it official?

Quote from ratchorg:

This is shocking.

California needs to prepare for a lot of pain in the coming years.

People and businesses are leaving California in droves.

Yes, killing the goose that lays the golden eggs. I can think of 10-15 states in this country I would NEVER open a business (CA, NY, NJ to name a few).

maybe now that joe paycheck just got boofed, with this he'll finally connect the dots about illegal immigration and sanctuary cities

As much as Id like to leave California I cant for a few years. The main problem with the budget is overbloated pensions for state workers and other government facilities. Unions and other big government sympathizers have gutted the state.

And youd better hope California gets better we are a much larger portion of the nations economy than most states.

Why doesn't Cali put a 50% tax on actors salaries. Shurely those left leaning bastards would be willing to indulge such a tax for a state that loves all their hairbrained political ideas.

Great idea.......wonder why it hasn't been brought up before! Stosh

instead of taxing the folks who are on the books legally, they should just have a 20% tax on everything you buy,no income tax, that way everyone who is earning a buck, pays taxes
