Corruption in govt is part of it's very nature the problem we are having is we are on a govt. Binge
Every 10 blocks is a township every 2 townships are a municipality every 5 munis are a county then state then federal

As for CA IOU it's really our IOU to to the people of Ca you can guarantee Obama will bail them out

The stock market will turn around for the short term but the overall direction of this country is bankruptcy and civil war, it's a matter of time and pain
Not being smartA$$, but your term "civil war" presupposes 1 organized military force pitted against another.
US Military is, pretty much, an organized military force. Who's the other side? Joe SixPack?:D

It's happening everywhere. These idiots confuse infrastructure with frivolous stuff like water fountains and rec centers.

I read in the local paper a few weeks ago that California has approved renovating the courthouses in almost all the counties. The local one is projected to cost $85 million. I don't know if that is higher than average or lower. it's a tiny county, but construction costs might be higher since it is in the mountains. At any rate they could save a few trillion if they postpone that project.

Oops, make that 'save a few billion'. Seems like Trillion is the new Billion these days.

Many, many tens of millions of people will soon refuse or be unable to pay their real property taxes.

It will begin in the western U.S., most likely Arizona, Utah and Nevada, and spread to California.

Cali could issue paper money with advertisements on it. Let the money they get be in US Dollars.

Brilliant.

Maybe Arnold could start endorsing products for the state too.

and despite the dismal fiscal picture, retarded voters passed an initiative to spend tens of billions on a rail system linking northern and southern california.

and you wonder how the state got into this mess!
