I hate soshulizm and my 1977 cabover Minnie Winnie is not a trailer. It makes a fine home for me and Ma and the kids and the dogs......now that we had the doors widened so we can git thru. We are both gonna git that lap dance surgery after we git Obama care....then we kin start goin to Golden Corral agin........bastards told us not to come back. And we don't need no welfare.....our disability checks and the kid's checks from the gov't are plenty. Stosh
And we already saw that happen when Bush and his buddies at FERC ( namely appointee Pat Wood, III ) sat idly by and did nothing while Enron "gamed" and manipulated California's power grid during a recession.
Imagine that.
The President of the United States of America sitting around on his ass at the Crawford Ranch allowing the 6th largest economy in the world to "twist in the wind" while Enron "gamed" the power grid.
The Bush Administration can give GM and Chrysler a $13.4 BILLION dollar "hand-out" of taxpayer money last December, but let the nation's 6th largest Economy be held hostage to a power trading company/hedge-fund.
Yet another reason why George Bush will go down in history as one of the worst Presidents in modern U.S. history.

Everyone wants goods and services, parks and prisons, schools and recreation facilities . . . but no one wants to repeal Prop. 13 or pay for anything with an increase in taxes.
It's been just like the last 8 years of the U.S. under George Bush. Spend, spend, spend; double the national debt; don't veto a thing; pay for wars without accounting for the expense in the budget; and act like you are in support of a strong dollar when in effect, you embraced the 50% drop in your currency even though you KNEW that such a drop would fuel energy and commodity price inflation and kill the consumer.

I have said for many years, and been wrong, that Prop 13 will be partially repealed starting with investment properties. Tenants on "NNN" leases benefit along with the Lessor, but basically the property owners raise rents to market & benefit from the limited tax increases.
Your argument that overall Californians aren't taxed enough is silly - look at the attached PDF. ... BTW, the prison guards make unreal salaries with overtime & retire with, I believe, 90% pay, just like firemen, plus other bennies. Yet, most calls involving firemen are mainly for EMTs... and sorry prison guards, that's basically unskilled labor. IF you were here then - they, the guards, got a big fat payoff from Gray Davis. Also, I read once that 25% of the CA prisoners are illegal aliens... Do you really want to pay for that? Really?
