California college will now ask students to pick from 6 genders

At the time of our nation's founders, sodomy and open homosexuality were punishable by imprisonment, castration and even death.

Although it is written that George Washington was more lenient toward them at valley forge.

Some might argue the labels themselves are a form of delusion. Think about it: if a person chooses some non-traditional gender label, but otherwise the person is a productive, law-abiding citizen who upholds the values of the Founders, the Constitution, and the United States of America, do you really care what gender they call themselves?

For the purposes of reporting, I do. For health purposes (restrooms and the like) I do. If you want to call yourself the Sugar Plum Fairy Goddess of Utopi-merica and dress in skirts and a tu-tu in the privacy of your home, knock yourself out.

Shrug. Still doesn't matter in the context I described, does it?
My point is the question shouldn't even be on the form. What the hell is the difference what new age, made up gender a person is to enter college? Should we care if the student is something other than male or female? How about tall or short? Brown eyes or blue? Black or white? Religious or Atheist? It's all meaningless crap in the context of education.
Segmenting people isn't equality, it's identity politics. It's how the left slices and dices everybody up into neat little groups that they can then attempt to control. Of course they'll tell us that one group discriminates against the other and the campaign of outrage is off and running. Your group needs more presence on campus. Vote for me and I'll protect your rights. I'll get your people in. Create a division where there should be no division. It's total bullshit. Is this the equality the left keeps talking about? There can be no equality when we keep segmenting people this way, and that's just how these political pricks want it.

Well said. Had they left 'Gender' off the form, this insight may have been missed.

How can the government justify underwriting ruinous levels of student debt when students can get the exact same education, minus the booze, drugs and sex, online?

College without booze, drugs and sex? Heresy!

Join me in gathering firewood to burn the witch in the quad after the kegger.

:)

Luckily the day is soon coming when most people will get a college degree online, eliminating the need for these people. They have evolved into mutant life forms who probably will not be able to survive outside the university environment.

How can the government justify underwriting ruinous levels of student debt when students can get the exact same education, minus the booze, drugs and sex, online?

That would be my solution to the education funding problem. Many universities already have online alternatives, kind of like newspapers trying to stem their decline by offering free digital editions. Let the government give modest subsidies to any student pursing an online degree but nothing if they want to party on campus.
Wait a minute. If it is minus the booze, drugs, and sex, how can it be the same education?

Online instruction is clearly the wave of the future. Classroom instruction is archaic and inefficient. Plus, universities have priced themselves into obsolescence. The only way most families can afford it is through government loans, and now millenials are discovering it's tough to pay those back on a barrista's salary.
