Wasn't Shaw a TOTAL ASSHOLE? Commie/Marxist... believed in the notion of "culling the less desirable [races]" from society?
San Francisco has a lot of liberals.
L.A. has a lot of free loaders.
CA has a lot of over paid govt workers.
You put that together and you have what you have is a coalition for really bad votes.
But the people in the suburbs of CA and there are millions of us, are not liberal are pissed we are over taxed and despise the spending.
Once the govt workers get pay cuts and layoffs.. there is a chance fiscal restraint and libertarian values could make a come back.

Governor Brown has a plan, which both the many dems and repubs both dislike...which means it is probably a fair and balance plan.
