Anybody else discovered an important "secret" with calendar spreads? :)
Maybe too good to be true :-)
I'm still researching it, but what I think I've discovered is maybe just an old hat for some others :)

You have no secrets. There is a 99.3% chance it is no secret at all, and/or it doesn't work as wonderful as you're anticipating it to,

All traders are ultimately just basic gamblers who arrogantly think they have been touched by God, and are superior to their fellow man in predicting the future and making boat loads of money from the market,

Out of the huge sample size, however, Someone has to be the real deal Holyfield that can deliver a knockout blow to the market,
The Holy Grail exists, but can only be touched and realized by the hands and minds of a Saint trader,

Yes, can be, and also to expect that there is nothing but an error or misinterpretation.
But, still it just looks so real... :)

I made this discovery with a cash account (PnL calc basis differs from margin acct).
But OTOH I think it should give similar advantage also in margin acct.
All just unproven/unverified theory yet.

Except that some have earned a full time living for many years with their trading. Arrogance is not being able to see what's above you. Having trouble with your trades lately?

There are "regularities" in the market... displayed in the charts. Learn and trade those. Not "gambling" at all.

Profitable Trader : "Oh yeah, sure earth_imperator, the big secret to trading calendars is......"

Do you really think someone will reveal their secret sauce, esp to a person who doesn't even know the basics of options?

Even if they told you their secret, do you think you would know how to set up a suitable trade?


The funny thing is, as soon as I saw the title of the thread, I knew who the author would be.
