The median time from diagnosis to initiation of chemoradiation was 28 days (IQR 19–41), and the median time from diagnosis to surgery in patients receiving primary surgical treatment was 23 days (12–40) for all hospitals. FIGURE 2: Median time from diagnosis to first treatment by hospital type.
Canada:
The median wait time from diagnosis to the start of chemotherapy in Canada is 32 days, with 47% of patients starting treatment within 28 days. Radiotherapy at 49.0 days
Regarding statistics, median makes sense if you have a median cancer.
Like options, it is the tail events that drive the profitability/outcome. if you are unfortunate enough to occupy the tail, e.g., incurable lung cancer, it could be a very different story.
