Unbelievable.
I run hot and cold on Newsom. One minute he sounds sensible the next minute he sounds like a lunatic. This guy is headed for the White House someday if he isn't recalled so I've kept an eye on him for years. I can't seem to achieve any simple characterization of him. I like simple.
Another recent Oh-my-God moment was his declaration that gas powered vehicles will not be sold in California after 2035. Mind you this is the state that cannot meet its current power needs, eschews nuclear and refuses to spend a dime on power infrastructure or even keep the current infrastructure safe from fires. Given that California accounts for 10% of new car sales its going to cost everyone in the country and I will be damned if I'm going to pay for the folly on the West Coast.

In Florida, specifically in my area, it costs about 14 bucks to recharge the entry level Tesla. So if you commute every day such that the vehicle requires a full recharge you will spend $420 per month on "fuel". Imagine what it would cost in California where power is significantly more expensive.
