By the Time your Read this... it may be too late

This solar flare erupted and it may have a cme with it... and that cme may be big enought to do damage to the grid. Now its about time Congress passes laws to strengthen and protect the grid.

a cme may be associated with this event.

2014-09-10 23:18 UTC Recent R3 Solar Flare

Active Region 2158, now near center disk, produced a X1 (NOAA Scale R3 - Strong) solar flare today at 10/1745 UTC (Sep 10th at 01:45pm EDT). Impacts to HF radio communications on the daylight side of Earth lasted for a little more than an hour.

Initial information suggests that CME is likely associated with this event, however, further analysis is underway at this time.

Standby for more details.

20:20 UT – The eruption produced a fast, global wave across the solar surface. These are often called EUV or EIT waves. Also, area around the center of theactive region became dark. This is because material is blown away from the area, leaving less material to emit EUV light or appear darker. This wave, dark area (dimming) and other radio data are all indicative of a CME, probably a fastCME perhaps several 1000 km/s or more. We will have to wait for coronagraph data to be certain but it looks like we have a fast, Earth-directed CME. The video shows the sun in the SDO/AIA 171 wavelength channel, the 211 channel then the 2 wavel

This is something that concerns me, regularly. I think grocery stores have about 2 weeks worth of food on the shelves. Gas is pumped by electrical pumps.

Well then, you're at the right place. Do you have at least three 5 gallon gas cans filled? This is just for short problems. Do you have six months of food for each family member? Canned food, bags of rice, dry beans, etc., How about drinking water? Water filtration in case you have to bug out? Fire. Do you have a dozen or so Bic lighters? Medical. Do you have six months of Rx meds stored? (If not, check this out: www.alldaychemist.com)
^^ Bare minimum stuff, but a hell of a start.

Congress pass laws? I don't understand.

Rest of you guys who take Rx meds, if your doc refuses to write any more than a 30 day supply, you can order from alldaychemist with no legal worries. They don't carry any scheduled meds though, and thank God. I can imagine the long arm of American big, broken gubment would have shut them down long ago.

How leftists like to feign their ignorance of the constitution.

The people of this country voted in a constitutional mandate to the Federal govt to protect the country. That is the point of the federal govt... not to waste billions on ineffective and worse agencies but to protect the country. However, I have read at least a few states are taking up the matter of protecting local parts of the grid.

You're not very finely-tuned to sarcasm, are you?
