my response to the dow new hi is this

its been manipulated

however the s&p has not conformed

the dow makes the news

s&p you never hear about

its all in the media on the dow

at any phase, one must have a view

that can only be short long or flat

only

that does not mean one cant do other things within that view

but one has to start with a view on general conditions

in simple terms the dow is manipulated into this tourist overbot play

anything can be manipulated

I will have to disagree with you.The last months buying is fools money/public money. They always buy close to the top.The market always looks its best at tops.

21 of the Dow stocks (71%) are 20% off their all-time highs and 17 Dow stocks (57%) are at least 30% below their all-time highs.

This hypothetical strategy is used because the portfolio managers (PMs) choose stocks independently of inflows and outflows. Again, the difference between the actual holding of stock by mutual funds and the benchmark holding of stock shows where real PMs over or underweight certain stocks due to the flows into the funds. you should recognize that PMs often have some skill at picking stocks for the funds, an effect called “smart money.” However, individuals’ investing behavior forces PMs to pick stocks even if they don’t consider them valuable because of the need to invest the new inflow of money.
