Buying Cardano and other Coins

Newbie in crypto - still thinking whether to trade but more inclined to buy and hold.. looking at ETC, Litecoin, XRP and maybe XLM. Anyone to guide where its best, safest and cheap to buy these with cash (and possibly trade it IF i so choose in the future). only US based.. looking at Coinbase, Bittrex, Bitstamp, Binance.. any thoughts helpful

Update: Bittrex seems to have most everything
 
I have accounts with Coinbase and Bittrex.
Coinbase is easy to use and you can buy coins with cash that you link to your checking account.
You can Wire money to them as well, but you have to pay a fee.

In order to buy coins from Bittrex, you have to buy Bitcoin first. So, you have to pay a fee to buy the BTC, regardless of where you bought them. Then, you have to pay a fee to buy the specific coin.

Both of them are based in the U.S., so they are safer than some of the exchanges based overseas. At least I think they are.
