Buying and Selling Foreign Currencies

HI,

I'm brand new and looking what exchanges are good for buying and selling foreign currencies? Ideally, I'm looking for something with an API which I can automate the sale/purchase and grab prices?

Sounds like you need a forex broker. Many of them use trading software such as MT4, for which you can add an expert advisor to automate your trades
 
Are you literally talking about buying some foreign currency through a bank and keeping it until you can ask the bank to exchange it back into your own currency?

Are do you mean private retail forex trading through a broker?
 
You mean a platform to buy and sell currencies simultaneously online? You need a retail broker. Each broker offers a platform, could be Metatrader4 or Metatrader 5 or Ctrader, and other custom platform. I use Forexchief, which offers Mt4 and Mt5 to traders. With this broker you can register, get free $100, download their mt4 or Mt5 and start trading EURUSD, USDJPY and many others. Stock and Cryptocurrency are also available. I hope this helps.

I am using a hybrid trading strategy, on one trading pair I attached ea, and sometimes if based on my analysis ea against the major trend I will cut loss manually, on the other side I am also trading on another trading pair.
