Buying a new monitor (suggestions please)

Samsung or the Dell. Both have thin unobtrusive bezels so you can place them side by side for one gigantus screen.

i wouldn't go with anything less than 30 right now.

If you have the budget, the Dell 24" monitors (2407) are very easy on the eyes.

I work with a 2 screen setup all day long (editing video) and it's a great setup.

One nice features, shared by some other Dell monitors, the 24" has numerous inputs including composite & S-video so you can watch a traditional TV source at the switch of an on screen menu switch.

Well, for one thing the cost per sq. inch for the 30s is more than 2.5 times as much as for a 24". And, some people, regardless of how much money they have, like to spend it wisely.

or they can't overcome the overriding personal mandate to do everything on the cheap... wifey and I are cleaning up a piece of real estate that was owned by a cheap-ass with hundreds of thousands of dollars in the banks. The place was filled up knee deep with cheap stuff, we were months in cleaning it up, sorting through to find the valuable stuff, selling stuff, the guy couldn't even get around the house or find the good stuff for all the cheap stuff..... we dug out valuables to the tune of $30-40 grand so far and we just started on the garage.... LOL... the same guy gave wifey a car once, it had bargain tires from Costco, they had four blowouts in a few months, one right after the other, finally we looked at the Big name brand and Big name model printed on the tire and the part number... the part number was different, it was an absolute piece of shit tire from the same maufacturer but made to Costco's specs... big money savings there.... what a joke...

so buying a Dell, with the aforementioned problem being that they change the panel type without informing you is wise?? Man, in the US first you have to seek out the quality, get past all the bullshit tricks they can pull on you, then you have to pay for it... its not easy living in a nation of cheapskates... it has to do with the brain nutrient deficiency in the food...

You guys are traders and arguing about the price of a computer? Just go down to Circuit City and buy the best one there, let those guys sort out the tech problems.

Just stick with the computer at the library that you use for your paper trades. You dont need something high tech for the simulator or to paper trade from the Wall St Journal.
