Buy today just before the close, or wait until Monday?

Quote from S2007S:

I think your best bet was to buy before the close.

Would be buying QLD, DDM and SSO for an early bounce monday.

I dont think the sell off continues, Im bearish but think next week they will find excuses to buy the markets back up to 13500 without a problem. Bear Stearns came out and said they are putting up $3.2 billion, this news alone could push the dow up 100 points on monday.

13500 is close....after the fed meeting 13750, 14k by July. Got to like the dips.

More than meets the eye?

``The police did not have any advance intelligence of this,
which is worrying,'' said Paul Wilkinson, chairman of the Centre
for the Study of Terrorism and Political Violence at St. Andrew's
University in Scotland. ``They will be concerned there might be
other devices in the area or elsewhere in central London because
if it is al-Qaeda one of their characteristics is to set off
coordinated devices.''

FRIDAY= BUYDAY for normal merger monday risk free money $$$

Why would one want to initiate a fresh buy on a Friday NOW, hold over a weekend and basically hope that nothing disastrous happens between Friday & Monday?

EqtTrdr, even though you keep posting oneliners I think you are a smart person. I could have agreed with you when a trend has experienced a change in a trend on the weekly chart depicting perhaps a W formation and breaking a weighted resistance level, etc.

But we are at a point here where markets can turn and if and when they do they do it with massive amounts of volatility/volume. I look at a chart and I wish I could share your optimism regarding initiating fresh buys on a Friday and holding them over a weekend.

Why, Sir?
