Someone who loses all of last year's trading profits in 3 months does not "spoil themselves". I'm in frugality mode. Apple is not helping the plight of people like me who do not want to spend 1000 or 700 or 430 on a phone.
Yeah i know what you mean.
In 2009, my trading was going very well, so i treated myself to a iPhone 3g, cost £400 GBP. That was lot of money for a phone back then. I would have never normally spent that kind of money for a phone but i had a really good trading year.
By 2013, trading was not going so well, i bought an Android phone, cost just £130. It was actually quite a good little phone, never let me down.
2018 life going good again. Back on apple for myself and all the family, have spent over £2500 on iPhones since then . Plus the same amount on MacBooks and iPads. Things cost 4x more with a family.
It cost me $140 to fill up my car this week

. Gas, as you guys call it, is now over $10 a gallon here in London. And we will just burn that shit in a couple of weeks. Makes paying $400 for a phone that could last up to 8 years feel not so expensive.
I have always paid cash upfront for my phones. But many, perhaps most, people appear to be buying them on monthly plans.
