Businessweek Article: Steve Cohen

Quote from goldenarm:

Interesting article in the latest BusinessWeek (7/21) about Steve Cohen, the barracuda-extraordinaire, billionaire head of the super-secretive SAC $4B hedge fund group. Did you know their fund pays out $150 MM a year in commissions? Well, I guess alot of that pays for early upgrade/downgrade tips from analysts. The fund's return this year is 13% (compared to the customary 40% returns) and Steve's mad as hell!

Check out the pic of his mansion in Connecticut. An indoor skating rink? Sheesh!!

thanks for posting the article. talk about motivating !!

best,

surfer:)

"I call Stevie personally when I have any insight or news tidbit on a company. I know he'll put the info to use and actually trade off it."

this part must have sprung from the Onion. :p

wasn't Steve Cohen interviewed by Jack Schwager YEARS ago?

Maybe BusinessWeek should interview Richard Dennis, or Curtis Faith, another "unknown" trader.

Goes to show you BusinessWeek and Money are sold to all the dentist-investors out there and soccer moms who don't know if they should put their money into Savings bonds or Fidelity Grandma's Easy Growth Ultra Conservative Fund

most of us already heard of Cohen already

Hey, those I-Bonds I bought are paying me over 6% and I don't have to worry about the money being blown out by an errant ES trader.

Hey, after reading that BW story about Cohen, now I have to cancel my sessions with the shrink.

When I told folks how I thought 'they' were trading against what they really wanted to do, just to shake me out, it was suggested I was paranoid and needed help.

Now , after 10 years of analysis, all I have to do is show this to Dr. Finkleheimer. I wonder if he'll refund my $50k in fees?
