Aw, come on, AAA. No thinking person would side with the president on this one. The 8 US attorneys were probably fired for partisan reasons. For all I know, that may have legally been the prerogative of those in charge. However, to deny it, to obfuscate and then to invoke executive privilege just smells bad. That coupled with Cheney's recent shenanigans really does not look that good for the administration. (On top of everything else.) It is amazing what people are supposed to turn a blind eye to, and what people can get away with during times of military conflict, whether or not those things have anything to do with that conflict. It really is time to wake up and smell the diaper. The administration it treating the citizenry as fools, and to disagree with that conduct is unpatriotic?
Somehow, I think that the administration's conduct and Cheney's secrecy is a bit more disturbing that the Monica Lewinsky debacle. (No partisan conduct there, eh? Certainly not by Newt Gingrich, who was having an affair at around the time the House was having a field day with Clinton.)Quote from Arnie:
Lets suppose he did fire them for "partisan" reasons. So what? He still hasn't broken any laws. You think the Dems aren't being "partisan" with their incessant calls for investigating everything this administration does? Who do you really think is being more "partisan". I don't agree with much Bush has done, especially of late, but geez, you have to have blinders on to not see what the dems are attempting to do with all these "investigations". They know they can't accomplish much legislatively, and they probably don't want to anyway. Their only goal is to score cheap political points.
