In 2004, it took all year long to reach the lowest point.

In 2005, it took 3 months.

In 2006, it took 6 months.
 
during 2000 $bpndx oscillated between ~20 and 70-80+ a total of 6 times. as $bpndx was deteriorating from ~80 to ~30 during the first 4 months of 2000 nasdaq managed to gain some 20-30%
 
Im not certain how we can apply traditional indicators to moments of hysteria and panic.

My opinion is that when the traditional indicators no longer apply and hysteria takes the helm, then its time to place your cash in a money market fund.
