%%I shouldn't have used the word "political".
Better word would be "agenda" meaning a specific vested interest.
That includes the majority of "news" outlets.

They love 'em.

Conspiracy - yes that we will be forced to eat them.Is it a conspiracy theory? In 2124, what are the incremental 3 billion new Africans going to be eating?
On the plus side, I ate fried crickets in Mexico once and actually found them quite tasty, and not at all unpleasant.
%%Most of them have to (at least FDIC banks).
If they don't, and the cash drawer is a little "light" any morning of the week,
The FED probably will NOT take the call.

Conspiracy - yes that we will be forced to eat them.
Agree with that. Especially the latter part but we would have to turn the country in the direction of China (one party in particular is trying their darnedest to get us to a Dictatorship state) because as we know China has no impediments in the way of making drastic changes. We kinda sorta still have a representative government on many levels that all get to put their 2 cents into it so it sure ain't gonna happen quick if at all. It's a definite feature of the current year that you see billionaires flying around on private jets, sailing the world on superyachts, and buying up Caribbean pedo islands and swaths of Kauai, even as they lecture the rest of us that we need to eat insects and live in tiny homes to stop global warming, and so Africa can cram in another 3 billion people (who will of course ultimately be invited to move to the USA and Europe). I don't know if "conspiracy" is the term I'd use, but nor is it wholly inaccurate.
And then, personally I'm all for vastly reducing the consumption of resources - we can start by blowing up the suburbs, turning them into walkable towns, and rebuilding intercity rail. But what's good for the goose is good for the gander, as they say.
