Building a new tower ???

ok i will bite but i build my own most of the time i only buy qualty and speed i know i over pay a little but my systems must be fast and realiable plus i always use pricewatch



but what do you have in mind

at least i did not go for scussi( hard drives) or the fastest cpu actually may 2.2 with 533 FSB would save a little
 
Im with ya on Quality & speed.
I think the 2.2 processor is plenty for my needs i like the 533 fsb also. I cant belive the difference i saw in FSB ( im a believer now)
what brand motherboard is the best? I have a tyan now and its garbage But it served its purpose i guess.

I do prefer the intel chip instead of the amd every one says the amd is faster but the testing i ran on my old amd k6-2 450 was slower than my p2 400 and seemed more stabile

I've received some great info', thank-you all.

On the above Dell would that meet my general trading needs ?

Did you know how much extra for the dual video card they would charge ?

Also will that meet the I.B. needs ?

Again all I'm looking to do is trade, generally using I.B. and Q-charts with dual monitors, using a DSL connection, I also check email, Elite :-), and run TaxCut at the end of the year :-(

You can always add a $25 pci video card and get dual monitors... and keep adding to get 3 moonitors, etc. I think that's cheaper than getting a dual monitor board although you will use up a pci slot. But you should have plenty of pci slots.

Again, I'm just looking to trade using, IB, Q-charts, DSL, and dual monitors.

Hope this may help others who are looking to upgrade or just get something to trade with.

If I'm not mistaken, XP Home Edition does not support multiple monitors? Perhaps you can work around that with a dual head card or something, but maybe you should check first?

Personally, I run 4 monitors off of Win2000. I've read comments on other websites where geekier computer guys than I claim that they prefer Win2000 to XP Pro.

In any event, you'll have plenty of muscle. Good luck with the trading wars.
 
If you building or buying a system for trading would only consider Professional versions of W2K or XP NEVER home version.
