Build or Buy?

Quote from gnome:

Ah... T3400 is the lowest priced computer in their lineup with a high performance mobo... it has an x38 chipset, 2 PCIEx16 slots.

Vostro and Inspiron lines have the ubiquitous el-cheapo $40 mobo and are much more restrictive about video cards when running 3 or more monitors.

Very true.
The dual PCI Express x16 slots support 256mb nVidia NVS-290 video cards that support 4 monitors.

The T3400 is subjected to a lot of testing, and comes with incredible scalability. It's a serious piece of hardware. A true "certified" workstation, and not some cheapy plastic desktop computer.

I'm currently running one with the 525 watt power supply and 4 Gigs of RAM with an E8200 Core 2 Duo Processor at 2.66 with 6mb's of L2 cache.

Save yourself a lot of headaches with a "build" unit, and just order a T3400.

You'll be glad you did.
