Buffett going 100% long stocks

I will add that I dont' understand -except perhaps for this latest move- why Buffet has to advertise what he does all the time, getting on the phone with CNBC to explain what he's just done.
It's sort of like he needs his new stakes to go up in value right away or maybe it is that when you get to where he is , the only
material thing left to desire is power, influence and fame .

How about civic duty? He's the richest man in the world and considered one of the greatest investors of all time. People want his opinion and if his opinion happens to coincide with giving a confidence boost to the market, why shouldn't he give it?

Quote from Cutten:

I have been buying select stocks at these levels for my long-term investment account, yes. Still, I'm a trader first & foremost, whereas Buffett is 100% business owner/investor.

With all due respect to poster "Cutten" his HEADLINE on this thread is pretty misleading . . .

The fact of the matter is that this investment by Buffett is with his own personal account, AND he is not currently 100% long stocks, as the OP implies.

You should do your homework beforehand. He's nowhere near the "richest" person in the world. There are those who're worth trillions.

Look up Rockefeller, Queen of England, Rothschild... etc.

Even if this goes badly how much can he lose? 10% of 40 billion? This is a great move.
He's already lost more ... AXP, KO, PG, GE, ...

I'm with you on the Government angle.

I have long suspected that Buffett is CIA or other government, and that his competitive advantage resides at Langley or Ft. Meade.

Now that he is in his 80s all that wealth is headed for the Gates Foundation to do more agency work.

And Bush flew to Omaha on 9/11 to consult with Buffett about what to do when one of the planes got shot down instead of hitting WTC7 like it was supposed to.
