Makes perfect sense to me. Now we all know just exactly where Buffett stands.
If you're gonna pretend that you actually know and researched something, try to abstain from using vulgar language so much. Also, keep it easy on the stupid insults.
In the days of feudalism and monarchies, the tax issue was relatively simple. The nobility would just send out the taxman to collect when they needed money. If they needed more, they would just tell the taxman to collect more. Soldiers would often accompany and help confiscate property and coins if needed.
The problem with collection in those times is when the poor had no money, hence nothing to collect. Most of the tax burden, if not all, was placed on the poor, not the nobility.
Uprisings would follow if this kept up. There is much literature on this subject, English, French and Spanish in particular.
The real purpose of taxes is the payment from the rich to the poor so that the poor will not revolt. The rich do need to pay most of the taxes, if they want to avoid confrontation and competition of a different sort.
Anyone who thinks that the idea of this taxation is some kind of punishment for success is thinking with their arsehole. One person's success is at the expense of 10 others failures. Natural Selection & Darwinism combined with nepotism, cronyism and Lady Luck. If you want to keep this game civilized, then you have to give back to society so that it can. Cause in an Animal Kingdom type natural selection, today's rich would become rat food.

The point Buffett trying to get across is to create fairness in the taxation system. The current tax system is favor the rich by allow the riches to pay a lower tax rate. One of the point he bought up is the Social Security Tax, where it ONLY tax 6.2% (12.4 for self employed) for the first 97.5k.
FOR THOSE WHO DOESN'T UNDERSTAND THIS, HERE IS THE TRANSLATION: Assume there is NO other tax.
Person A who makes 30k/yr, tax is $1,860 or 6.2%.
Person B who makes 97.5k, will pay $6,045 or 6.2%.
Person C who makes 1 million, tax is $6,045 or 0.6045%
Person D who makes 10 millions, tax is still $6,045 or 0.06045%
This is a tax break for the riches. This is just one example. If you study any tax, you will see many more.
