Well Americans, you voted for the Trump! Sigh! I guess its ok, despite an initial crash in the futures market, everything is glowing green right now. So, I guess, I forgive you, for now.
The MSM quickly changed their narrative from "Trump is terrible for stocks!" to "we're only rallying because the big banks like him." Never mind Hillary's Wall St. speeches--the very definition of "being cozy with the banks" and crony capitalism.
Of course, part of it is simply that the election is over and uncertainty has been removed.
I agree that its likely just relief that its over. However, I agree with the banks comment. I jumped on a couple of bank stocks this morning here in Canada.

So I wonder if you can update us with your thoughts. First, even before the election results, SP did make it above 2136, which you felt it couldn't, and after the market close, it pushed even as high as 2152 before dropping as the results were coming in. But the highest you said it could go was 2144.

You did say it would go much lower than 2080, and it did, but clearly, where we sit right now at 2154, which is even higher than the high when it still looked like Hillary had a chance its shocking.
In regards to your GC call, this is a tough one because the initial call was good, but then it spiked to below 1269.0, for only a minute, but if this was really a stop as you said, then you would have been stopped out.

Took profits today. Too good to be true. Cashed out my registered investments: RRSP and TFSA ( Same as your 401K americans)
