Our problems are really not that difficult to solve. At all. A 10th grader with the right education could do most it. The free market functions best when the Government simply ceases to interfere with it. That's where most of our problems stem from - Government interference with the market economy to benefit special interest groups. You would know all this since you're a Ron Paul Libertarian

Think about it. Close the border. Deport the illegals. End the drug war. Slash taxes. Penalize offshoring through tariffs. Eradicate ISIS. Legalize the Constitution. End many of the Departments. Return education to the States. That's it, really. There's really not much to do.

I prefer closing the border and keeping our safety net to some degree. Along with workfare instead of welfare for able bodied people. When everyone gets to work... then we can consider merit based immigration on more than a small scale.

But, if you wish to have open borders and follow a libertarian type ideal, you have to end the giveaways. People who came here would be the ones willing to work at the wages we set for the jobs we have. That was the model at the time many of the previous waves of immigration happened and that seemed to work. Immigrants melted into the fabric of America because that is what you did to succeed.

There's nothing logical about that argument. There was nothing logical about that argument when Ron Paul made it either.

You can't have open borders during war time or with a welfare state. Ron Paul admitted the latter during an rnc debate but couldn't finish the sentence. It's a precious libertarian ideal to maintain open borders. Libertarians would rather see the end of the welfare state then close the border. Problem is that ain't gunna happen. There's too many oldies like u crying that social security and Medicare are the number one issue and in the same sentence, lament closing the border. Ur either on one side or the other. Especially more immigrant workes who mut pay the SS tax but can't receive the SS benefit unless they are bona fide citizens.

People want to come to the USA for benefits, but not government benefits, capitalism benfits. Bernie likes to say, "We are the only industilaized nation who doesn't...blah, blah, blah." But we are the nation everybody wants to come to. If they want universal healthcare there are many other industialized nations to sneak into.

The best way to close the border is to turn USA into just another industrialized nation. Nobody want to go to those nations anymore. Oh yeah, they will go to Germany, but the real prize is making it to USA.

You can just substitute the word "drugs" for "immigration" and it is the same old failed tired argument I have been hearing for decades.

That's not correct. Immigrant households are twice as likely to use social assistance as native households. Illegal immigrants incur roughly 150 billion dollars per year in costs while they pay 12 billion in taxes.

They do. We have illegal Mexican immigrants up here too. We also get Kurdish and Persian illegal immigrants.

All the fake Syrian refugees are migrating to Germany and Northern Europe to get on welfare. So that undermines ur entire argument they come to America for capitalism not benefits.
