Brooks biggest mistake as a teacher

SML I'm glad you're having fun "guessing". I find full-on discretionary trading mentally exhausting. That's probably why so many guys are trying to find an automated system that works.
Hello tomkat22,

It is not mentally exhausting to me. Yes, I take losses too when I guess, but oh well. It is part of the business. Even if you sell drugs, you may get robbed and lose money or go to jail. So best to hustle the ES futures markets. And it is legal business as well.

Yes, you can find automated system that works as well. They both can make money.

i have been trading Brooks for 15 years and lost money.

i just could not 'see ' his signals on 5 min.

once i started doing what he said not to do -which is trading 1 min charts-everything went right. i has a EUREKA moment and everything Brooks said made sense.

He said 1M will whipsaw you...... bull shit..... apologies for the picturesque language.

JUST TRADE 5 MIN .......
Like Brooks write books? o_O

SML 2 BS.
Hello SunTrader,

lol, I am not sure what that means. but oh well.

I bet you one thing. I am NOT working hard and making alot of money in 1 hour of work per day, then I go spend my time doing more meaningful things that can make me more money.

work smarter , not harder.

The harder you work in trading, the more money you will lose.

Is Al Brooks a fraud???!!!
Al Brooks isn't a fraud. But I have sensed from Padu's writing that he doesn't really know that much about price action, other than what he got from Brooks. And that's unfortunate because had he come prepared in advance, he could have gotten much more information from Brooks than just second entries and the use of 5-minute chart.

Reading some of these more recent comments, I see now why I stopped posting
This weekend I will post a couple of charts to show how I use volume profile
and how fund traders create a weekly trading plan, then I am obligated to teach
a class, so I am probably done here (for a least a while)

As to whether hard work benefits traders or whether Dr Brooks is a fraud. I
don't even want to respond. Good luck folks

Hello StevenBruce,

See you later buddy. Take care.

Luck is not needed when making money. Making money is needed when making money.

No such thing as luck.

Should I throw away my Al Brooks book (onto @maxinger s "pile of Doom" lol)?

I think it would be a mistake for people to abandon Trading after putting so much time and Money into it @padutrader @zghorner at least Paper trade.
NO
you should understand that Brooks can only give you knowledge.

IT IS UP TO YOU TO UNDERTAND THAT KNOWLEDGE COMPLETELY AND THEN ALSO LEARN TO MANAGE YOUR TRADING ACTIVITY....

all traders must understand that it is management skills that makes a trader successful and that must be learnt separately and indivudually.NO ONE CAN TEACH YOU THAT because each one's personality is so different and management is all about managing oneself

You have a tendency to say how much time you spent on something: "20 years on this, 30 years on that.."
You value seniority rather than results.

You would make an excellent union rep in the US.
some traders think if they spend afew months reading Brooks they can amke money.

i want to impress that it takes decades to consistently make money.

fuck your seniority
