If you want to know, but I am still afraid you will reject it, it was an idea given to me by one of the trading coaches I hired.

About 4 years ago a coach suggested that to visualize trading success was an important aspect of improving.

This person suggested that having a tangible goal was better than a nebulous "I want to make money."

We agreed that placing a picture of an airplane ( the one I wanted to buy if I could ever afford one) would keep me motivated.

It did.

It worked the same with the house I just moved into Monday.

And now I just put a picture of a Citation Jet on top of the computer.

I motivate my clients the same way.

Believe me, I understand the feeling.

Lots of people in this room make fun of my college jobs---driving a NYC taxi and selling steak knives door to door.

You don't think I despised people like I have now become?

I sure did.

I often said "Look at that rich showoff bastard." Gave me a dollar tip like I was a dog.

I had a boss who once fired me and once rubbed his $250,000 boat in my face when I was driving a beat up car.

I recently sent him a picture of my plane.

I am not all hearless though.

When I was a cop I stopped all 3 lanes of the Long Island Expressway because a dog got hit and not one creep even stopped to help the dog.

I did.

The dog licked my hand; the motorists hated me.

I liked that.

You know Alex, for the past 40 years my main activity has been studying martial arts. I even went to China for a few years to study because I figured the skill level would be very high there. It was and over time I’ve found that the higher up the food chain you went in skill level, the less the teachers were full of bravado and blowing their own horn . I’m also willing to bet if you took the 100 most successful traders and put them in a room, there wouldn’t be a whole lot of chest pounding of how great they were. That’s something you might consider in your posts.

I have also practiced martial arts (and Brooklyn street survival) so I am sure you understand the role of self-defense.

I am proud of the fact that I have never started any physical aletercation in my life.

Obviously you have arrived at the far end of the Puretick relationship with ET. You have not seen the professional beginning of our posts in 2006.

I will bet no one has ever caught my interview on Good Morning America on a very interesting subject. The well documented roles I have played in the name of integrity have people who know me shocked at the crap that goes on in the ET forum.

I take it for the business. But I give back far more than I need to take.

I was taught to defend myself. Also, I take my integrity very seriously. No one here knows that level.

They could check if they knew how to do that.

So when someone calls me a fraud, I defend myself.

Case closed. And I do not respect anyone who would attempt to libel and or slander someone they do not know---especially brave internet assholes.

As a business I am allowed to advertise. Every martial arts instructor I ever had also advertised. I would hope you would not call them braggarts.

So, arriving on the scene quite late, I don't blame you for seeing the truculent side of me.

The good news is: I did not start it.

On to a different subject now- One of my favorite cartoons I saw showed a broker at a marina proudly displaying his yacht to a potential client and then pointing to the other yachts in the marina the brokers in his firm owned. When the mark asked him to point out the yachts his clients owned, he didn't get a response.

That cartoon and article appeared in registered rep magazine in 1987 the year I left Merrill Lynch.

Looks like your sensei didn't teach you much about coming up with new material.

What are you jealous of anyway?

To me the above lesson is the lesson that losers never learn. They see success and feel that it is beyond them so they never strive for better.

Instead of being angry, if I wanted to own a yacht, I would find out how all the brokers earned their yachts (of course a loser would say "they all cheated their clients"

Guess I'm a loser. Because I know they cheated their clients. They've always done it, they'll continue to do it, and if we let them up off the mat this time, they'll do it again.

I caught a couple of the firms cold. My reward? I got to walk and they didn't chase me for the money I owed them I would have willingly paid back.

There is an arrogance, no better illustrated than naked shorting the shit out of everything, then, when it happened to them, running to the press (see Mack, Morgan Stanley).

There will more and more you'll see, like, getting corporations corporate and individual business, which is terribly profitable and tremendously satisfying, and then lending the directors legended stock to short sellers.

Guess I'm just a loser.

and btw, that cartoon goes back at least to the fifties, probably before. Fred Schewd wrote the book in 1940
